Classical English Literature and Latin Seminar and Pilgrims Progress Workshop
This Friday, 30 August from 9am to 4pm, we will be hosting a seminar on Classical English Literature and Latin. There will also be a parallel programme for younger children: A Pilgrim’s Progress Workshop. To see the programmes, click here. A study of the great classics of English literature is absolutely essential for a true education. The English classics, by John Milton, William Shakespeare, Jane Austen and Charles Dickens have played a key role in teaching individual virtue and for laying foundations for Western Civilisation. Next to the Bible, Pilgrim’s Progress, by John Bunyan, is the all-time best seller in English Literature. Our morning programme for adults and high schoolers will focus on appreciating the treasure trove of Christian civilisation in classic English literature, looking at vital messages and themes in Hamlet, Macbeth, King Lear, Paradise Lost and Paradise Regained, Pride and Prejudice, Sense and Sensibility, Oliver Twist, Hard Times, Bleak House, A Tale of Two Cities and other important English works. The afternoon programme for adults and high schoolers will focus on Latin words and phrases which enrich the English language and particularly give insights for Law and Reformation. If you would like to be part of this Seminar and Workshop in English Literature, please book with tershia@christianlibertybooks.co.za, or phone 021-689-4480.
